Back To School Party {FREE Printable Package}

August 4, 2014Kara Woolery

I am so excited to now offer my Back To School party as a FREE download! The entire package is FREE! PERSONAL USE ONLY! YOU CAN NOT RESELL OR USE FOR PROFIT IN ANY WAY! The link to download the file is at the bottom of this post! You can purchase the custom Library Card Invitation to match if wanted HERE! My daughter Lilly absolutely LOVES books and reading! I thought it would be a perfect idea to do a book exchange party to get Lilly and her friends in the spirit to start back to school. The concept of the book exchange was for every child to bring 5 used books they are finished with and they would go home with 5 new ones! Annye from Faith Photography did a great job as usual capturing the memories!

Serving-table

I had a small budget for this party! I got very creative and used several items from around my house. The vintage desk was my favorite part of the party decorations! It was my grandfathers, and I loved having the opportunity to use it for this party.

I-love-school

The chalkboard was purchased at Hobby Lobby and then I painted the edge red. The Banner was made from the Back To School Printable Party Collection. I used pages from an old book to make a lot of the decorations for this party. I fanned some of the pages to create the paper fans on the chalkboard. I cut several of the pages into strips and my daughter, mom, and I made the paper chains for the front of the table and the top of the library! I always love when I can include Lilly in the decorations!

back-to-school-bash

The guest were invited with an old library card style invitation. I used brown paper envelopes cut in half to slide the invitations in, and wrapped with twine. Get the Invitation HERE!

globe

I used several books from around my house to decorate the dessert table and help give different heights throughout the table. I wrapped some of the books in Kraft paper, and left some of the vintage looking books unwrapped! The globe was something that was mine when I was a kid. I LOVED the color it brought to the table.

cupcake-wrapper

The red wooden glasses were purchased at Hobby Lobby in the unfinished wood craft section. They were originally made to be a picture frame. I removed the backing on both of the lens and spray painted the glasses red.

wrapped-books

The adorable cupcake toppers were purchased from Your Cupcake Story. She did such a great job!!

Keep-calm-and-read

The Keep Calm and Read On and the Keep Calm and Learn On signs are great teachers gifts if put in a 5×7 frame for them.

sake-lunch-party

I used an old picnic basket my mom had, and filled it with the kids sack lunches! I attached a party logo from the printable package to the top of the sacks with wooden clothes pins.

party-favors

I purchased the chalkboard bin in the dollar section at Target. It was the perfect size for a small foam cube from the Dollar Tree to fit inside. I attached party logos to the lollipops and put them in the foam!

back-to-school-supplies

I wanted the kids to take home some cute and fun school supplies! I purchased the red baskets and the mini composition notebooks from Walmart! I thought the notebooks were adorable! The guest filled their red baskets with school supplies and left over sweets!

bookmarks

There was a bookmark making station! I filled it with white strips of card stock, back to school stamps, and markers! The kids took turns making bookmarks at the station while also picking out their books at the library!

pick-a-book

As the kids arrived they put their five books in the library. Everyone was given a library card that had five little squares for stamps. They went up to the library one at a time and picked out one book each time until everyone had collected all five stamps and books!
