Grilled Watermelon

Grilled Watermelon is my new found favorite treat! My family has always LOVED watermelon, and we usually enjoy it by sprinkling some sea salt over the top. I had no idea how much flavor grilling the watermelon would create. It is so delicious especially if you add some fresh mint leaves along with your sea salt.

Grilled Watermelon – A Healthy Summer Treat

This is a sponsored post for Chinet. I received compensation and free product in exchange for this post. ALL ideas and opinions are always my own, and I only work with brands I truly love and use myself.

Grilled Watermelon is the perfect healthy side dish, or dessert, for a summer BBQ. I created this INSANELY AMAZING Paleo and Whole30 approved recipe in partnership with Chinet!  Chinet’s disposable Classic White platters are the BEST for summer grilling, and entertaining, and their Classic White plates are perfect for dishing out all of your BBQ foods for friends and family.

I’m always a sucker for BBQ side dishes like the ones I share here on Chinet’s blog. My favorites are of course the ones that are healthy, Paleo or Whole30 approved, like this grilled watermelon recipe with sea salt and mint leaves.

Before I made this recipe, I didn’t have a clue how to grill watermelon, mainly because I had no idea, people, grilled watermelon. I had heard of grilling other fruits like pineapple and peaches, but not watermelon. It sure does make for a delicious summer treat. If you are looking for another summertime treat try this Mixed Berry Crisp one night this week, or at your next summer BBQ.

I sure am glad though that I discovered this secret to making the best watermelon ever. My girls and husband devoured every last bite of this treat last time I made it for them. You can also chop it up and toss it in a seriously delicious Spinach Salad!

How To Grill Watermelon

You will start by cutting your watermelon in inch thick circles. Then cut those circles into fourths like pie slices. Next, you will add your sea salt to both sides and throw on the grill. Grill for 2-3 minutes each side then garnish with fresh mint leaves. I use sweet mint from my herb garden.

How To Choose A Watermelon

A ripe watermelon should feel heavy for its size (big or small), and its yellow splotch should be a creamy yellow. Watermelons develop a yellow splotch from resting on the ground while growing.

Summertime Entertaining With Chinet

Entertaining in the summer is A MILLION times easier with Chinet Classic White products! I love having friends and family over and enjoying delicious food like this grilled watermelon recipe, or these other BBQ sides. BUT I do NOT love the cleanup, I mean who does; this is why I am so thankful for my Chinet paper platters and plates. I can seriously toss them in the trash, and help make clean up a BREEZE. Plus they are incredibly sturdy and reliable paper products. No one enjoys eating on flimsy paper plates that bend and leak.

I hope you get a chance to try this grilled watermelon recipe with sea salt and mint leaves! Comment below and let me know your favorite way to eat watermelon.
