Little Man Mustache Bash First Birthday

July 30, 2013Kara Woolery

This Little Man Mustache Bash was the perfect FIRST birthday for my nephew, Jagger! I simply adored all of the mustache parties out there and was so excited to get the chance to do my own! Jagger’s mom wanted lots of chevron and fun boy colors; so that’s what I did! Annye Newman from Faith Photography did a STUNNING job on capturing all of the party details! I simply love working with her! You can purchase the Printable Collection Little Man Mustache Bash in our shop HERE!

I used a gray chevron fabric for the back drop and for the front of the table covering. I then put a blue scrunch fabric from Walmart over the top of the table. Safety pins were used to create the elegant draping look. I simply pinned up the sides and the middle. I then tied the tissue poms to the side safety pins.  Here is a great How To tutorial by Darling Doodle Designs for easy Tissue Pom making. I used the poster from my printable collection to place in the center of the backdrop. To help add a pop of color to the backdrop; I used two large 36 inch balloons (not inflated with helium to the fullest), and some smaller balloons on the sides of the table.

Little Man Mustache Bash

For the precious birthday boy’s high chair I attached some balloons and a pennant banner to add some color! His momma had this adorable chalkboard with some of his ONE year old details written on the front. Ohhh how he LOVED his smash cake:-)!

As always my best friend Alyssa did an AMAZING job on the cookies!! She always blows me away with her talent. Go check her out at Bon Bon DuJour! She takes custom orders and YES she will ship!

I searched and searched for some suitcases in the colors I wanted and no luck! At least no luck in the price range I wanted! I found these wooden suitcases in the unfinished wood section of Hobby Lobby. I then removed the hardware and spray painted each one. Once dry I reattached the hardware. It was very easy and inexpensive.

The Chevron goody bags were empty so guest could fill them with the left over goodies before leaving. They were purchased from The Bakers Confections. I placed the photo prop sticks in a clear drinking cup with a mustache sticker on the front. The photo props were cut out from the printable Little Man Mustache Bash collection and then attached to gray chevron paper straws with glue dots. The paper straws were purchased from Hobby Lobby.

I always have Oreo Pops at every party I host. Simply because they are everyone’s favorite and always the first sweet to be gone! My good friend Lauren makes them.

For the individual cupcake stands I purchased a 6 pack of unfinished wood candlestick holders from Hobby Lobby, and a 6 pack of cardboard coasters. I then spray painted both and used a hot glue to attach them together. I placed them in a serving platter and surround them with sixlets. The cupcakes were purchased at Walmart to save money and then embellished with cupcake wrappers and toppers from the printable collection.

These ADORABLE mustache chocolate covered oreos were purchased from Sweeties By Kim! She always does an awesome job and everything arrives in great condition!

The BEAUTIFUL cake was made by Butter Sweet Cakes and was a gorgeous focal point for the dessert table!

The water bottles were wrapped with drink wraps from the printable collection. I cut out mustache’s from the printable collection and attached them to the gray chevron straws for the water bottles.

I painted an organic bloom style frame from Hobby Lobby and then put one of the party signs from the printable collection inside the frame. The grey gumballs were purchased from Oriental Trading Company.

These adorable little wooden spoons were purchased from The Bakers Confections! I put one scoop of lime sherbert in the baking nut cups and then put the spoons in the sherbert.

I happened across these cookies on Etsy during the party planning and immediately knew I wanted them somewhere on my dessert table!! TScookies offers some adorable cookies including these:-)

This adorable Little Man Mustache birthday shirt is by the talented Baby Modern! She also made the matching bib seen in the smash cake pictures!

The photo props made for some fun and goofy photos and LOTS of laughs:-)

My favorite part is seeing the cake smashed in his hands, his face and the look in his eyes saying, “I get to eat this whole thing?”

I love the usage of fabric “chevron” & colors. It’s a great 1st bday choice with a sophisticated edge. The theme if you “mustache” I’m one is fabulous. It doesn’t make people without kids feel like they are attending a kiddie party. Ok, I could go on forever!!

Wow! Where do I begin?! This is one of your best jobs yet! I’ve been a fan of your work ever since I purchased my Baby Shower printables from your shop. This mustache party is beyond beautiful. The color combination, the trendy chevron, the details and the impeccable styling are major!!!!!! Love it!!!
