I love the usage of fabric “chevron” & colors. It’s a great 1st bday choice with a sophisticated edge. The theme if you “mustache” I’m one is fabulous. It doesn’t make people without kids feel like they are attending a kiddie party. Ok, I could go on forever!!
July 30, 2013 at 3:53 pm
Wow! Where do I begin?! This is one of your best jobs yet! I’ve been a fan of your work ever since I purchased my Baby Shower printables from your shop. This mustache party is beyond beautiful. The color combination, the trendy chevron, the details and the impeccable styling are major!!!!!! Love it!!!

Love, love, love the holiday season and the Santa’s Helpers theme. My favorite if I had to choose is the dessert bar you created. From the handcrafted backdrop to the mug marshmallows. It was a great focal point and “sweet” touch to the celebration.

December 2, 2013 at 2:55 pm
We just started the elf on the shelf tradition in our home and this party is a true inspiration. I love how you added the mischievous touch with the elf painting – it really makes the elf on the shelf come to life. I adored the hot coco bar particularly the stirring spoons and the sugar rimmed mugs! And you knocked it out of the ball park and straight to the North Pole with the aprons and hats. Fantastic party!
December 4, 2014 at 2:08 pm
Thank you so much!!

September 20, 2014 at 8:12 pm
Hi! I love the colors and the pictures. I was wondering if you can customize the wording so instead of using the package for a 1st birthday, I could use for a baby shower? The wording I was thinking of is either “Guess whooo is almost due” or “Guess whooo is coming soon”
September 24, 2014 at 2:56 pm
Hello!! I have this theme in a baby shower in my shop here https://www.etsy.com/shop/LillianHopeDesigns/search?search_query=owl+baby+shower&order=date_desc&view_type=gallery&ref=shop_search thank you

Can you please tell me where you found those great balloons?
Hello!! Yes they are from Party Galaxy! They are called 36inch balloons. You can also order online, but I have found them to be the cheapest at Party Galaxy.
November 24, 2014 at 7:43 pm
Free thanksgiving printables
November 24, 2014 at 9:12 pm
LOVE these printables! Only problem I am having is I am disappointed that I can’t seem to edit the text size on the menu. Am I missing something? It is making it difficult to utilize them :(.
November 25, 2014 at 12:09 pm
Hello Lauren!! The font size has to be set in:-( I made them small enough to fit pretty long words per line. You can always do a mark before each menu item lik – or a * or somthing and then use two lines to type some of the items. But since you will have a mark in front it will separate the items! Let me know if that works for you! Thanks!
January 5, 2015 at 2:45 pm
I am definitely going to have this as my daughter’s first birthday theme! All I have to do is order it and then take it to a print shop?
January 27, 2015 at 7:13 pm
Hello Lizz! Yes that is it:-) So easy and fun!!
January 29, 2015 at 4:59 pm
How did you get the frames to go up on the wall. I bought similar frames from Michael’s.
February 6, 2015 at 2:55 pm
Hello Amanda!! I used a tiny nail. But you can also use ULINE strips (sold at hobby lobby and other craft stores) they hold heavier items. Or I LOVE to use Command Strips!!
February 2, 2015 at 6:00 pm
HELLO. HOW are you? Im not due until Sept. And I lo e these decorations. I was wondering though if it could be made in yellow and also have tigers and lions in it? I’m willing to pay for the extra decor ideas. Thank you for your time.

June 1, 2015 at 2:37 pm
Hi there (: I was wondering how you hung the coral wrapping paper background?
Thanks so much!
June 1, 2015 at 2:43 pm
Hello Ashley! I taped it to the wall of windows behind! I usually do my wrapping paper or fabric taped or command striped to a wall if I can. If I don’t have a wall then I use foam board from Hobby Lobby and I attach the foam board to the table using large dowel rods and heavy duty tape.
June 16, 2015 at 9:17 pm

February 2, 2016 at 4:01 pm
THANK YOU THANK YOU – I was literally just discussing with my husband what we should make for our Super Bowl party this Sunday! Those flavored ritz crackers seriously look delicious!! I think we are going to do those and then the philly cheese steak and buffalo chicken sliders. The hamburger I think we are going to do on regular buns. You have any other great drink ideas to go along with the cokes? Maybe like a punch idea? Thank you!
February 4, 2016 at 12:31 pm
Awww Thank you Jen for so much great feedback! I normally just do sherbert and ginger ale for punch!
February 2, 2016 at 8:56 pm
The cinnamon sugar bites with ritz remind me of my mom and how she use to make me cinnamon toast! Thank you for the recipe! Love the print stuff too. What size are the Coke bottles that are on sale? Is that all walmarts?
February 4, 2016 at 12:30 pm
Thank you Mandy! Yes they are at all walmarts and they are the 16oz. The cinnamon sugar bits are delicious! My favorite!

Such a nice story to read. Congrats to you and your family. I am sure those little girls lives have been blessed as much as they have blessed yours. Will put you in my prayers.
Thank you so much Kim.
February 15, 2016 at 10:04 pm
I’m not going to lie I read this a bawled like a baby. God is so so good! I love kids & have always wanted to adopt or foster but God led me down a different path. I’m grateful for my 3 children & 2 bonus kiddos but I can’t help but have this place in my heart for children in need of a home & loving family. I’m always reading about foster children & families. I love seeing God’s work in all the lives who are apart of adoption & fostering. I pray God blesses you, Ryan, Lilly & those 2 beautiful girls & leads you all on the path he created for each one of you. Prayers for your journey always.
Ashley thank you so much!!! And your little family is precious!! God definitely always has a plan!
February 15, 2016 at 10:35 pm
Awwww! I SO love this. We, too, are a foster family and got a call for a sweet baby girl a little over 4 years ago. This was perfect, I wanted another baby and hubby said, only one. Well, within a few hours, we got a call, “BTW, she has an 18 month old sibling.” That’s not really a “by the way”. ☺️ We grew from two kiddos to four overnight and now are a permanent family of six. God always has a plan and it always works out just like it’s supposed to. Blessings to you and all three of your sweet little girls!
February 17, 2016 at 9:17 am
This was so wonderful to hear! Thank you for sharing Sarah! Congrats on your precious little (big) family! Hahahaha! God definitely always has His plan!!!
February 16, 2016 at 6:49 am
My husband and I are also becoming licensed foster parents. But we are hoping to adopt a child out of the system. We have four of our own children already and cannot wait to see where God continues to take our family.
February 17, 2016 at 9:16 am
Chrysty that is so awesome to hear. We are definitely open to adopt if we get a placement where the kids are adoptable. But the main goal for most if bridging back with family.
February 16, 2016 at 9:13 am
Oh Kara! This has me in tears! What a beautiful blessing all around! The picture of the three girls together is absolutely precious! Excited to hear more about this journey! Bless your hearts!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I have a question for you, the fork & spoon you have hanging on your wall I actually just bought the same ones from Hobby Lobby. The only thing is mine I can only hanging with the handles facing up. I wanted to flip the spoon over like you did to have them on the wall. I was wondering if you had so change anything about the way they hang & if so how you did it. Thank you!!
March 23, 2016 at 11:06 am
Yes!! I am actually finishing up a blog post to explain how to do the walls! I will have pictures to explain the back and how I hung it. I really just rigged it with duct tape and a hanging set from hobby lobby lol!!!
March 23, 2016 at 10:51 am
I absolutely love the printables. Thank you thank you thank you!! These are amazing. I am a teacher and used them to create baskets from the dollar store as you mentioned for all of my 3rd grade students. What a great idea and resource. I also filled some small eggs with the Jelly Beans. I found some at homegoods!
March 24, 2016 at 12:05 pm
These are great! Thank you so much. I will be using all of these for an Easter party I am hosting this Sunday. My favorite is the name tags that I will attach to their Easter buckets! I just showed my children and they are even more excited now.

April 7, 2016 at 10:47 pm
I want to do a clock wall, what do you suggest I start with?
April 8, 2016 at 5:24 pm
I would say do the same technique but with clocks. Start with your middle clock piece then work your way out. Get clocks of all different sizes. That sounds so cute!! Be sure to send me a picture if you create one! I would love to see it!!
April 12, 2016 at 12:38 pm
Gorgeous I want to purchase the family rules package – I see the large print can also be printed in 11×14. Are the other 4 able to be printed smaller (8×10) or can they only be printed 11×14? Did you find the open bar wood frame in 24×36 at HL? I don’t see it on their website – maybe they only have in store? Thank you so much. Love your gallery walls. Absolutely gorgeous.
April 18, 2016 at 11:32 am
Hello!! Thank you! Yes I only have it in the 11×14. I can go in and add the 8×10. That is a great idea. Since it is a pretty popular size. I could have those added into the set by later this week. Yes I got them from Hobby Lobby in the store! Thanks again for the kind words! Let me know if you have any more questions at all!
April 13, 2016 at 6:57 pm
Hello… How did you do the background, the one where you mounted the MOM letters? Thank you!
April 18, 2016 at 11:30 am
Hello!! Someone else asked that same question. I am going to edit the post today and will include that info!!
April 17, 2016 at 3:43 pm

April 19, 2016 at 7:10 pm
I have several walls (including curved staircase that I want to do a gallery wall. When is it “too much”? Lol. I can send you pictures of the entry and areas I want to do them to get your opinion.
Yours are so awesome. I had actually started thinking about some of these before I saw your post. But glad to get more ideas. 🙂
April 20, 2016 at 12:26 pm
Hey Gina!!! I think if you can mix up the style it can work on a few walls. My one very busy wall is the only one in my house that is that busy. The rest are more simple! EXCEPT one in my daughters room! I will be showing my dining room one this week and it is full of more ideas. I say you start by doing one. Then slowly add an you will know if it starts to get too busy. It also depends on what style you like! Some people think this is too busy for them!

Kara this project is gorgeous! It would be so lovely for a Mother’s Day brunch setup!
I included this project in a roundup of some of my favorite DIY and craft projects from people attending SNAP! I’d love for you to take a peek. You can find it here:
April 29, 2016 at 1:34 pm
Thank you so much Crystal!!! Love your post!!
April 30, 2016 at 1:14 pm
Thank you sooo much, these are perfect for our Mother’s Day Celebration, we were planning on doing a mimosa bar, what are the odds I found this!!
May 4, 2016 at 4:06 pm
This is gorgeous! I read and re-read the post to see how you did the black and white stripe background, but I still don’t see it! Am I missing it?
May 6, 2016 at 10:14 pm
Hello!!! It was a print I made. BUT they have fabric in those same thick stripes at JoAnns and other fabric stores! I used a large white foam board from the craft store and duct tape the fabric or paper to the board. Then I used that same duct tape to attach it to the back of the dresser and two dowel rods to make it sturdy. LOTS of duct tape hahaha! If you have a wall to use the better option is to just tape the paper or fabric to the wall.
May 6, 2016 at 10:30 pm
Thanks so much, Kara!! I am definitely gonna have to get some duct tape!! Hahaha it is the best! You did a great job!
May 6, 2016 at 8:15 am
I love this wall and I almost have everything I need to make it, but the key! I didn’t find it and was wondering if you had any other ideas on where to look and also how big is it and what is it made of? Thanks Jenni
May 11, 2016 at 11:04 am
Thank you so so much for sharing your story. I have to admit I am on the judging side. I never once have looked at a screaming out of control child through this lens. You have 100% touched my heart and I am beyond grateful for having read these words. What your family is doing is amazing. You writing this article will change the thoughts of anyone who comes across it. I was crying – mainly because I was like the women you wrote the letter to.
May 13, 2016 at 3:32 pm
Lindsey we are all on the judging side at times! Thank you so much and I am so glad I could give a different perspective.
May 11, 2016 at 11:32 am
Well said, Kara. Blessings on your fostering journey! Been there. 🙂

May 11, 2016 at 1:18 pm
Oh Kara this is such a great post! I can’t imagine how hard it is to be a foster parent. This was beautifully written! xoxo
Thank you so much!
May 11, 2016 at 6:21 pm
I loved reading this! I agree with you, especially the part about lifting each other up and NOT tearing each other down. What an inspiration! I stopped judging along time ago the women with screaming children. I have 4 children and ran a daycare for many years. Although, I do catch myself judging the Mothers who are constantly on their phone while their children are literally running away from them! Who knows, maybe they’re talking to another mother who needs encouragement. I have work to do in this area! Thanks again! I think you’re amazing and courageous!
May 11, 2016 at 9:00 pm
That is amazing Kam. I can imagine having 4 kids and running a daycare will definitely help you with that! Thank you so much for sharing.
May 11, 2016 at 6:31 pm
Hope this opens people’s eyes. I went through a divorce 2 yrs ago and my son’s behavior changed dramatically. He had just started kindergarten and I was sure he’d be kicked out of school. But thanks to an amazing academic staff, family, and friends we made it through a rough season. I had someone give me advice (not asked for) I explained that children also need to vent their aggressions. He wasn’t being a brat he was hurting that Daddy was no longer in the home. 2yrs later he is a happy 7yr old honor roll student who loves both parents even if in separate homes.
May 11, 2016 at 8:51 pm
Ruthie thank you for sharing your story. Sorry you went through that. I am so glad he is doing great now! That is a wonderful story!
May 12, 2016 at 9:56 am
I am finding it hard to print or find the link for the tie dye printables Can you help please?
May 12, 2016 at 12:05 pm
Beautifully written! I am the mother of 4 grown children, 9 grandchildren now and I applaud what you are doing. When mine were young, and close in age, it was a chore just to go out and my strong willed child usually pulled something…..I can laugh now…then, it was hard, the looks i got……even my own mother told me I “wasn’t handling it correctly”, but you do what you need to do that is best for the children involved. I’m happy to report my children are all very wonderful and are fabulous parents to boot! I must have done something right. My husband is always amazed I can smile when I see “tantrums” in a store and stand there so patiently…..I tell him, been there, done that, and it’s not easy…..there’s probably more going on that we know, we don’t walk in their shoes so it isn’t our place to judge. God bless you and your family.
May 13, 2016 at 7:28 am
Thank you Cindy for your kind words and awesome job on such a large and wonderful family!! Thanks for your advice.
May 13, 2016 at 2:55 pm
Can you tell me where the fork and spoon came from?

AMEN!!! Thank you Kara for writing this and speaking up. Thank you for using your amazing blog platform to share something that desperately needed to be heard. I have been a blog follower for a few months now and I love your parties. I actually found you through your gallery wall post. But this post reached my heart and I hope you will share more of your stories with us. I know if you can write this you have lots more heart to share. Heart that will touch other peoples lives. Thank you again.

Need bathroom ideas. My new home is bare in the bathroom. I have separate room where the toilet is and have no idea what to put on my walls. HELP! My colors are very dark chocolate and tan so it makes it hard..
May 14, 2016 at 12:14 pm
Maybe do some simple white frames so they really pop!
May 15, 2016 at 12:51 am
Any chance I could get the name of the paint that’s on the walls?
May 15, 2016 at 6:15 pm
Oh yes I should of included that! It is Sherwin Williams Light French Gray at 75% instead of 100%. The white trim is Sherwin Williams Alabaster.

May 19, 2016 at 4:41 pm
I am planning on doing the wall art in my living room and I will be purchasing you wall art printables. One question on the 1st printable – Be Grateful… is that on wood it self or is it printed that way to look like wood behind and you put it in a 14×14 frame?? I’m using some of your ideas with some of my own so I may be back with more questions! 🙂 love your ideas!
May 23, 2016 at 11:04 am
Hello Mishelle!! The one on my wall is a sign from Hobby Lobby!! I offer the printable version for you to frame if you can no longer find the one from Hobby Lobby!!
May 22, 2016 at 12:17 am
I saw your kitchen gallery wall and am dying to see the whole picture. Do you know when you will be posting the finished post? I’m super excited for it 🙂
Emily hopefully by next week!!!! It has some great printables coming with it too!!!

I never leave comments, but I just wanted to add my appreciation for you and your family in what you are doing in fostering these two little girls. I wanted to adopt children for as long as I can remember. We got two children from the foster care system at the ages of almost 11 and just turned 7. And we’ve definitely had our share of difficult things to work through over the last 6 and a half years. Especially with our oldest we’ve seen the results of what being in both good and bad foster care homes produces. A lot of the emotional baggage our now 17 year has had to work through comes from verbal and emotional abuse suffered while in foster care. Praise God, we’re at a pretty good place now. Our older two have come so far and are now wonderful older siblings to their two younger brothers (2 1/2 and 8 mo). We need more foster families like yours! Even if the children’s time with you is short, the love, safety, and stability they see and experience with you will stick with them for the rest of their lives. God bless your family! PS: I love your beautiful decor and designs!
May 23, 2016 at 11:03 am
Laura thank you so very much!! What a wonderful story you have! That is amazing. And thanks for all of the kind words.
May 23, 2016 at 5:22 pm
I am touched by your story and agree with you 100%. I am the mother of, what was once, a strong willed child and now, a stubborn, self supportive woman so, I remember those times! I thought that I would not make it through sometimes but, low and behold, the earth is still spinning! God bless you and your journey! YOU GOT THIS!
Pam, Stuttgart, AR
May 25, 2016 at 10:57 am
Thank you so much Pam!! I always hear the strong willed children grow up to be successful adults!! Hahaha!!
May 29, 2016 at 9:37 am
Hi! I was wondering if you could share where you got the large wooden frames for the text printables above the entry way table?
June 1, 2016 at 2:51 am
Love your gallery walls.
June 7, 2016 at 10:40 am
This is beautiful Kara. Did you post the tutorial for the Striped backdrop yet?
June 9, 2016 at 12:12 pm
Hello Crystal!! Thanks so much! It is just a printed backdrop and then taped to foam board and the board is duct taped to the back of the dresser!!
January 26, 2017 at 4:48 pm
This is beautiful! How did you print the backdrop and what size foam board did you use?
February 16, 2017 at 8:37 am
I printed it at office depot and I am not sure on the size. It was the largest one they sell at Hobby Lobby! I recommend using fabric instead of the print out. It is cheaper!
June 13, 2016 at 12:53 pm
Nicely written Kara. We all tend to judge from time to time without thinking it through. We should all remember to not judge like this, we have no idea what some else is facing. A kind word or offer to help goes a long way. And, I just opened a cake pin, and got a wonderful life lesson reminder. Thank You.
June 17, 2016 at 2:50 pm
Thank you Vicki!! What a wonderful think to hear. And so strange it came from a cake pin hahaha!
June 16, 2016 at 5:58 pm
Love your work! Any way you could shoot me an email about some work I purchased? I bought two at the same time & was only able to download one. Pretty sure it was my iPhone being quirky…it kicked me out of the printing screen before I typed the link into my pc browser. Either way, I paid the package but never received it.
June 17, 2016 at 2:49 pm
Hello!! Thank you so much Lillie!! I just resent both files to your email!! Let me know if you have any questions at all!
June 20, 2016 at 12:30 pm
I would love a copy or read ice of how you constructed the 4th of July Cale. Red, white, and blue to resemble the flag. Thanks
June 22, 2016 at 11:36 am
Hello1 I did not do that cake. The cake is from another blogger and I pinned it from their site.
June 20, 2016 at 6:55 pm

June 29, 2016 at 7:55 pm
I love your story. I think I needed this read. I posted it on my Facebook and apologized I tend to be inpatient and a bit Judgmental without really knowing peoples story. Its great what you are doing for those girls may God continue to bless you and give you strength. I think he’s till working on me 🙂
July 1, 2016 at 11:33 am
Bren that is so wonderful to hear. Don’t we all struggle with judging? I sure know I use to judge more before all of this.
July 7, 2016 at 8:12 am
Hello- I absolutely love the ugly sweater party printables. I know I’m very early, but once school starts it will be busy. I’m planning on having an ugly sweater birthday party for one of my kids. Our neighborhood has an annual christmas parade and thought it would be fun to incorporate the ugly sweater theme. I’m unable to download the invites and tent cards. I would love to use them if possible.
Thank you in advance for your time and wonderful work!
July 10, 2016 at 2:44 pm

July 10, 2016 at 10:18 pm
Love this decor!! I have finally begun my gallery wall 😉 I started hanging items using command hooks since I’d rather not damage the walls with nails and such. My husband saw your post and wanted to know how you went about hanging the decorations. Appreciate your response! Congrats on a great piece!!
July 19, 2016 at 10:06 am
Hello Vanessa! I used nails!! LOL. You can read throughout the post and it explains my not so calculated way of hanging my gallery walls!
July 11, 2016 at 11:30 pm
Did you just glue the letters onto the backdrop?
July 19, 2016 at 10:05 am
Yes!! I used hot glue!

August 27, 2016 at 12:45 am
I have a cross that I bough it’s wood and it has a horseshoe on it. To me it’s like rustic I want to make a wall gallery to it I don’t know how to start or what to buy any suggestions please.
August 31, 2016 at 10:11 am
I would take a picture of it on your phone and when you are out shopping find things you think will go well with it. You can really mix and match just about anything. I think the more differences you have the better! Once you have enough items to fill the space you want then follow the steps in this post for how to hang.

Hello! So sorry the images deleted from the site so I had to unlink the recipe. I am going to relink it soon. It is melted white chocolate and yellow chocolate. Hello, where can I purchase the stripe back drop?
April 22, 2017 at 10:29 pm
Hello!! It is actually not for sale, but a better option is to use striped fabric. It is a lot cheaper than the print out that size. Or paint a foam board with stripes!
